Four More Sleeps Until LYS Day!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I've had nothing but LYS day on my mind and on my needles for weeks! It's been so much fun coming up with new ideas and kits to celebrate my favorite day. I am so excited for you to see what we've put together. The FREE patterns are AMAZING!!! Malabrigo completely hit it out of the park, the Rasta pattern, called River, is GORGEOUS!!! What impressed me the most is they'd realized they'd left out a very key demographic, CROCHETERS!! They promptly followed up with an email featuring a beautiful cowl called Dotty, I want one....I've been diligently knitting away on my lovely shawl using Cloud Merino by Artyarns. I'd forgotten just how wonderful this yarn is to work with. I really hope it will be finished by Saturday, if not, I'll throw it on some Purl Strings so you can see how beautiful the colors are. Lucinda has generously donated (3) of her shawls using Cloud Merino so you can see some of the other colorways available and most importantly, how they look knitted up. I will be posting ALL WEEK on Instagram and Facebook what you can expect to see on Saturday, April 27th, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS EVENT!!! Did I mention a drawing???? Hmmm....who wouldn't want to enter in a chance to win YARN!!!! Additionally, I will have a nice little "gift of appreciation" with purchases of $25 or more until they run out. So please come celebrate with Carrie & me.

We had a nice little group for KAL last Saturday, a few are still finishing up their Wisdom of the Moon Shawls (Claudia & Barb). Sandy and Paula were working on the unofficial summer KAL, Soft Tee, using The Exotic by Woolerton Estate Yarns. I should be receiving the special orders from the Trunk Show soon, Zoe was finishing up the last of the dyeing and said it would be shipped ASAP. I was sharing a story about a woman who came in off the street into Red House Sweets where Kathleen and I were enjoying a treat before embarking on our adventure to Sutton. We both had our Atenti bags perched on the ledge in the window, they caught this woman's eye, she came in, beelined for us and commented on how amazing they were. What impressed me the most is she actually left the bakery without a treat, lol....So needless to say, I will be putting in an order with Atenti soon. If you'd like to order something, stop on by and we can take a look. You may certainly look at their website https://www.atentifabricandhome.com/ but as a retailer, I have access to inventory they only offer to their brick and mortar locations. If you're unfamiliar, they are all handmade in California, the business is owned by a mother and daughter and the quality is AMAZING and THEY ARE GORGEOUS! You can feel good supporting a woman owned small business and look awesome carrying their bag, win, win, win!

The Retreat that is planned for the weekend of May 18th and 19th is filling up! I've been getting nice donations for the goodie bags from several of my vendors. If you haven't seen the flyer, you can attend either or both days, one day is $100 both days are $140. The price includes meals each day which are catered by VT Bakery, a project bag with a project, and workshops. There are rooms available for an additional fee of $100/night. Let me know if you'd like to sign up, the deadline is May 15th, spaces are limited. This will take place at Susan's Bed & Breakfast which sits on the shores of Lake Champlain, it is LOVELY!!!

Have you seen Andra's Emotional Support Chicken? She's been entertaining names, and is refusing my wonderful suggestions lol... I said Laverne, and I'd knit Shirley, funny, right? Then I said Lucy and I'd knit Ethel, nothing...Then I came up with Thelma and Louise, BRILLIANT!!! I really wasn't interested in knitting one of these until I thought maybe our chickens could be friends, just like us. She still won't commit and I told her I'd be upset if she settled for something stupid like HENrietta, seriously? Do these people not know Andra? She's far too sophisticated for something so kitschy. Anyway, she's been posting pictures of this thing as it moves around her house, I commented it was her version of Elf On A Shelf, she did think that was funny at least. Stay tuned, hopefully the name will be announced soon.

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
