Good Morning Everyone!

I'm not here to freak you out, really, I'm just trying to help. Believe me, these little reminders and countdowns serve a double purpose. Mostly, the intention is to help you plan for what is coming your way. For me, it helps organize my varying levels of procrastination, it's a dangerous game. A game I usually end up losing because I refuse to take my own advice, lol....understanding your weaknesses is part of the process, right? I said nothing about acceptance, just to be clear. Let's get to the root of the problem, it's Carrie. Her incessant nagging, aka her awesome ideas, have my brain on overload sending me straight into panic mode. But it works, she is always thinking about 3 holidays ahead, shall we talk about Easter? We have lots of fantastic ideas up our sleeves, don't let the holidays stress you out, have some fun with us!! As Carrie always says to me, "It's ok Katy, we got this," and I believe her...

Speaking of fun, next Wednesday, September 24th is ANDRA'S ANNUAL TRUNK SHOW!!! You do not want to miss out on this fantastic opportunity to not only see ALL OF THE NEW FALL/WINTER yarns, but you can try on the many garments knit up in them. We will be set up and ready to go at 5:00, I've ordered a beautiful sunset (per Andra's request). The weather has been extremely cooperative all summer long, therefore, I am expecting a monsoon. The plan is to be outside, but we can pivot at the last minute and move inside if need be. Did I mention there will be a drawing for a FANTASTIC PRIZE courtesy of Berroco??? This is always an evening full of fun and most importantly, LOADS OF INSPIRATION!! Or as I think of it, just a bit deeper down the rabbit hole....

As we finish up the current KAL, there's been some discussion about what's happening next. Carrie and I thought doing a series of quick holiday KALs each month would be extremely helpful, it is, I have 1 Christmas present finished! Carla thought it would be a fantastic idea to host it during our regular Stitch and Bitch, I couldn't agree more! On Wednesday, October 8th 6:00 pm, we will be casting on the Novus Knit Pouch, the kits are $35. I finished my adorable little bag a few days ago, it's stupid cute. It was extremely interesting to knit, I did experience a few unnecessary hiccups, which could have been easily avoided. Laura Nelkin does an amazing job with her videos and demonstrates each section of the bag. I only ask for help when the waterline is up to my nose, or when I get the sneaking suspicion that something just isn't right, whichever comes first. The construction of this bag is super cool, I haven't done anything that interesting since Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise. Knitting origami, it's a thing lol and the use of the Purl Strings makes it absolutely amazing. How did she come up with this??

I've ordered some adorable Mistletoe Sock kits from the Fibre Co, just you wait and see! They will be here in plenty of time to knit up as a gift, or to wrap up and give to that favorite knitter that appreciates getting another project!! I also just received a big box of new Project Totes from Lykke, they are fantastic!!! I am also getting all of the "gifts" that make up the Advent Calendars, this is so much fun!!! There is a limited amount of Advent Calendars available, if you want one, let me know. I have not figured out the price yet, shocking, I just found out that one of my items isn't available, UGH!!! So bear with me as I wrap up the final details, it will be worth it because these are going to be super cute, AGAIN!!

We are making plans to attend VT Sheep and Wool, on Saturday, October 4th which means the shop will be closed. If you would like to ride down, please let me know, the more the merrier! We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy

P.S. Photo credit, Vickie Isham she grows the most beautiful flowers!! She sent me this sweet picture of a bee sleeping in a dahlia.
