It's Official, It's FALL!

Good Morning Everyone!

It is my time to shine, FALL IS HERE!!! Summer certainly didn't drag it's feet getting out of the way. The crisp, 40 something degree mornings have provided the perfect prelude to what the day will bring, 60 something degree days, YES, PLEASE!!! It's been hinting for weeks, the subtle changes in the leaves, seen from a distance, transitioning to the deep autumnal shades of gold, orange and red Vermont is famous for. Sunny days are no longer sweltering, the breeze sends a chill, the sweaters come out of hibernation AND it's time to go apple picking!!! What's even better is having a new sweater ready, my Antipodes is finished. I am so pleased with how it turned out, blocking made such a difference, it always does, but I'm amazed every time.

Provided it's not 80 degrees again for this year's Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival, I will be wearing it. If you are interested in carpooling to Tunbridge, please let me know, the more the merrier. We will be departing from the shop on Saturday, October 3rd at 8:30 with a quick pit stop at the Williston Park & Ride to pick up Emma. This past Saturday, I took a little ride up across the border to see Lucinda and meet Pope Vergara. Lucinda had hosted an entire weekend of knitting with beads workshops, the energy was incredible. I purchased a copy of Shine! it is full of gorgeous designs, there are at least two I would love to knit, Sensitive & Storm. Seeing this book was truly inspirational, I am simply in awe of her creative and artistic abilities. Meeting her was wonderful, she is just lovely and so gracious, she definitely recognized me from good old Instagram. I wore my Something On My Raglan Tee so she could see it in person. She even remembered I'd knit the Bee Vest and Clay Cardigan, that was impressive. As if that wasn't exciting enough, Julie Asselin was there, making her rounds, she's such a joy!!

I rarely escape from Lucinda's without making some kind of a yarn purchase, this time it was Koigu's Pencil Box collection called Lake Ontario. Of course I had to ask if they had the Lake America version for the Americans, there was much eye rolling needless to say. I have absolutely no plan for what I will create with it, it's almost too pretty to use. I did manage to cruise to the IGA and restock my beloved Oka cheese. I was hoping the Maple would be in stock, nope, but I did get a round of Mushroom-Truffle flavored which I haven't tried yet, I need to get a yummy baguette or maybe just a knife.

With our KAL coming close to the end, I thought I'd mention a beautiful new shawl pattern that is releasing today on Ravelry. It's called Where Are The Leaves? It's an illusion/shadow knitting project and looks incredibly AWESOME!! I have no idea how this technique works, if it's brioche related I may simply just die, lol... All I know is, it looks amazing and I think it would be so much fun to do. There is no link yet, as soon as I see it, I'll share it, if you see it, let me know what you think! If you're wondering what's currently on my needles, it's a Weasley sweater for my sweet daughter, Addie. She's been asking me for a few years to knit her a Harry Potter sweater, I honestly thought she'd outgrow the idea, I was wrong, I simply could not say,"No" to her. I'm using baa ram ewe Coast in Navy Blue and will embroider a beige "A" on the front. This is all she wants for Christmas, I'm more than happy to oblige. I'm almost ready to divide the front and back, once that is complete, I AM CASTING ON MY THISTLEWOOD SWEATER!! I've been dying to knit this with my gorgeous Artyarns I bought at Lucinda's, DYING!!! I cannot wait to see how the red, hand painted silk-mohair with sequins and beads knits up the flowers, STAY TUNED!!
