Laborless Labor Day...

Good Morning Everyone!

It's official, the final holiday of the summer season has come and gone. The kids are back in school, and believe it or not, THE LEAVES ARE CHANGING!!! I say this with much excitement and gratitude, I survived my least favorite season, SUMMER. Temperatures above 75 degrees annoy me, I hate humidity and I'm not a fan of bugs, especially yellow jackets, So you may find it interesting that I choose to spend Labor Day lounging on the beautiful sands of Hampton Beach. What a day! The breeze was blowing, so it wasn't too hot, the occasional cloud provided some relief and there was hardly anyone there, the perfect conditions for sure. Thankfully, I was with a seasoned, beach going pro, VICKIE!! She loves the beach and is well acquainted with everything to bring, where to park, and best of all, where to get the best salt water taffy.

I accomplished 2 of the 3 tasks I wanted to do on our mini break. #1 walk the beach, no shock there, I can't sit still #2 eat my weight in salt water taffy #3 KNIT!! For all of you beach goers, I'm thinking of Carla, I discovered it's nearly impossible to knit at the beach. I did transfer Antipodes into my plastic Knitter's Anonymous "beach bag" (I'm comfortably on sleeve island, mindlessly knitting in the round). What I didn't anticipate was my desire to just sit and watch the ocean. It's worth mentioning I was slathered in sunscreen and sand seems to find its way EVERYWHERE. Maybe it was enough that the fresh saltwater air and the sound of the waves crashing was all I needed to relax. Knitting in the car definitely wasn't going to happen, Vickie pulled up in her convertible, top down, ready to go. So I find it ironic I actually took the day off from "work" aka knitting, I didn't make one stitch all day. Happy Labor Day to me!!! And a big thank you to Vickie for inviting me along on this most fabulous adventure!!

Now that September is here, it's time to get serious about the holidays. I've been warning you since July that Christmas is coming. I am here to help you out!! I did a reorder of baa ram ewe Woodnote dk, that seems to be flying out the door, for good reason. I also received a restock of Juniper Moon Farm Beatrix, ooh, la, la!! If you haven't felt it, YOU MUST!! It is snuggly soft and is like wearing a hug. I cannot keep up with everything I want to knit, I know I'm not alone. The feeling is overwhelming and at times I'm borderline manic just thinking about it, such a curse. I am anxiously and patiently awaiting the arrival of the beautiful new lines of yarn by Lang, fingers crossed, it will be worth the wait, I promise...I've had so many admiring my Zick Zack scarf knit up in Mille Colori Baby (due to arrive). It's prompted many of you to pull out that WIP from years ago and finish it up! I can't wait for you to see what I've ordered, it will be like Christmas and hopefully here well before then.
