Good Morning Everyone!

I believe the beauty of each day is the possibility it presents and how it is received. Sunday morning began with a huge jolt of adrenaline the minute I opened the door to walk with Bernie. It was 5:30, still kind of dark, I did not expect to encounter a very angry yellow jacket trapped between the front & screen doors. I felt that familiar sting immediately, reacted accordingly, managing to knock it to the floor where I promptly grabbed a shoe and smashed it. My victory was short lived, my arm started to swell up instantly, so I sprayed it with some Benadryl and went on my way. 90 minutes later, I have no knuckles, my hand looks like a club, hmmm better pop a Benadryl tablet.

My plan for the day was to join Lucinda and friends at Mont Tricot for an afternoon of knitting and to check out her new classroom space. By this time, my arm was HUGE and hotter than hell, my solution, a frozen gel pack. I hop in the truck, wrap my arm and make the drive up to Sutton. I arrive and join the fun and of course my arm doesn't look very normal. I recount the story, Lucinda looks at my adorable logo on my arm and remarks, "She looks a bit chunky." We laughed and proceeded with Show & Tell, I brought Antipodes which is stunningly beautiful. I was able to meet Victoria, Kathy, and one other (didn't catch her name). Each working on gorgeous sweaters, Lucinda was finishing up a lovely cardigan in Malabrigo Chunky (self designed), the time flew by and we decided a walk to the ice cream shop was in order. I make it safely back across the border with a bag of yarn for Kristen.

By Monday morning my arm seems to be very angry at the Benadryl, it's huge and now my fingers are swollen. I've been putting off having some bloodwork done, but Vickie has stayed on top of me, gently reminding me I needed to take care of this. I call the doctor, leave a message to reorder the bloodwork that was supposed to be done in January. Apparently, my reputation precedes me, the receptionist called to inform me I could come into the office at 11:30 THAT DAY, ugh busted. It's a good thing I called, my blood pressure was 159/92, the nurse checked it twice thinking the machine wasn't working. Clearly not normal, I start panicking while I wait for the doctor to come in. She takes one look at my arm and says, "I'm not liking the look of this at all. When did this happen?" That stupid yellow jacket inflicted a brutal bout of Cellulitis, no wonder my arm was burning up and my blood pressure was through the roof. I am so thankful to Vickie that she has my back and reminds me how important it is to follow up. As of today, my knuckles have started to reemerge, the hotness is gone and I'm on a round of antibiotics. Fortunately, it did not hinder my ability to knit, I've been cruising along on the body of my sweater, it is so pretty!!

It appears that today is going to be a bit drizzly, the perfect day to get the latest issue of LAINE magazine and to sit and knit. I do have a bit of housework to do, we'll see if it bothers my arm to run the vacuum, lol...The time would likely be better spent making cookies, I should take advantage of the cooler temperatures, it makes the house smell so good. I suppose there's enough time in the day to do both, I'll start with the task I enjoy the least and reward myself with cookies and knitting, VIOLA, the perfect, rainy, day. The North Hero Knitters are meeting today, 5:00 at the library, I'm going to pop over and see Jenna & Cathy, let me know if you'd like to join me.

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
