Good Morning Everyone!
I cannot believe it is already the end of APRIL!!! It sure doesn't feel like it, but alas, it's here. Where else can you get tempted by lovely Spring daffodils, a gorgeous, sunny, 70 degree day, followed by a sucker punch to the face full of snow? VERMONT!! I did take advantage of the adorable little snowstorm by sowing some poppy seeds in one of my garden beds, perfect conditions. Keep throwing those lemons Mother Nature...
In case you haven't heard, Local Yarn Shop Day is this Saturday, April 25th. Carrie and I have been getting the shop ready so you will have an amazing day! We have been putting new kits together (OMG SO CUTE!), there will be a scavenger hunt, FREE PATTERNS, new notions, new yarn, AND Berroco is donating an entire bag (10 skeins) and pattern booklet of CASHMELLO to one lucky winner at each store. Not to jinx myself, but the weather even looks like it's going to cooperate. I hope you will stop by to see Carrie and I, we are super excited to have you join in the celebration.
I miraculously completed my Clara top before the current KAL even started, I am not sure how that is even possible. I've been working diligently on my Something On Your Raglan Tee by Pope Vergara, it is stunning! I finished all of the beadwork for the raglan increases, I even ended up with the correct stitch count, which is nothing short of a miracle. The pattern has an increase before and after the beadwork every other row, it would be easy to miss one or ten, NOT ME!! The top has been successfully split and I decided to knit the sleeves before the body, for once (Carrie does this all the time). Mainly because I wanted to see the pretty little beaded detail around the cap sleeve, it's soooo lovely. It calls for an I-cord bind off which takes forever and a day to do, but worth the effort, it produces such a lovely edge. With any luck, I'll have both sleeves finished and will be cruising on the body by Stitch and Bitch tomorrow evening.
Last week, Claudia and I went on a little adventure to see my friend Lucinda at Mont Tricot. Aside from the fact that I hadn't been up to visit her, I was dying to see the renovations she and Gilles were doing at the shop. OMG IT LOOKS AMAZING!!! While I was there, I did take advantage of feeding my stash with a gorgeous selection of Artyarns. I successfully found yarn to make Jenn Steingass' Thistlewood (just you wait and see) along with sweater quantity for another pattern that has yet to be decided. No trip would be complete without a visit to the IGA grocery store to get my favorite cheese (that isn't cheddar) OKA. I am absolutely dying to cast on another sweater, the yarn is incredible, all of my favorites: cashmere, merino, silk, beads, sequins...I absolutely must finish my beaded raglan top, I plan on wearing it to one of Addie's (4) graduation ceremonies. I have (3) weeks, plenty of time, right??
We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
