Merry Christmas To YOU!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm ever the optimist, there's still time, just about 40 hours lol...I hope today finds you exactly where you need to be in your holiday planning. Let's face it, we're all different, and we handle our time management accordingly. I grew up influenced by polar opposites, my mother and my Mimi. Oddly enough, the end results were the same, everything got done. My mother would wait until the eleventh hour, juggling a million balls in the air, my Mimi ran her household like a well oiled machine. I somehow landed pretty much in the middle, channeling their energy that best served me. I will say, I definitely tend to lean more towards my mom's method of operation. I resolved myself at an early age that my Mimi's pedestal was hers alone and she could have it, she's still perched there watching me, knowing her influence is there hidden under the dusty mop boards and tarnished silver, which I call "character."

I am cruising along on my Halibut sweater, it is soooo boring. I'm almost finished with the body, just a few more inches to go, then sleeve island. I have two new carrots dangling in front of me, like I needed more, make it stop! The Brookline by Berroco knit with Remix WOOL dk (new for 2026) and Harvest Flower by Jessie Martinson I just received my yarn from Brown Sheep, a beautiful palette of Nature Spun. Although I can feel myself slowly slipping further down the rabbit hole, it's an amazingly fun slide. What's the alternative? Cleaning? I think not (sorry Mimi, not my vibe). I really don't care how many sweaters I have queued up, not to mention the endless mittens and hats I simply cannot live without. Isn't that what makes this journey just incredible? Endless possibilities without the threat of boredom. I have never been bored in my life, it simply wasn't allowed. Admitting I was bored was met with a cleaning rag and a bucket of water to wipe down woodwork. Needless to say, I was more than happy to find other things to keep myself busy.

Speaking of keeping busy, we will be meeting on Saturday, December 27th 9-11:00 for KAL, we've decided to knit vests. Ideally I would like it to be the same vest, but I am open to suggestion of course. If you are unable to attend, not to worry, we are still in the discussion phase and won't be casting on. We haven't done a vest project yet, I absolutely love vests, NO SLEEVE ISLAND!!! My favorite one is Emsworth by Isabell Kraemer, the construction is interesting and it features a lovely design feature on the front and back.

A gentle reminder that we will not be meeting tomorrow evening for Stitch and Bitch. Some of us will be basking in the joy of the holiday spirit, others will be trying frantically to get that last row finished and off the needles. Wherever you fall on that very generous spectrum, I wish you a very Merry Christmas!! As a special little holiday cheer, I will be having a Boxing Day sale, Friday, December 26th 20% off everything in stock except consigned items. Make it a great day, and I hope to see you soon!

Katy
