Good Morning Everyone!
Nothing like a brisk 37 degree morning to get the blood flowing and the heart pumping (cruising full steam up the side of a hill doesn't hurt either). The upside, NO BUGS!! I know it won't be long before the black flies and little gnats start swarming my head making me wish it was winter, NOT! In the grand scheme of things, this isn't exactly the end of the world, we know this, but I'm sure I'm not the only one wishing the wind would quit ruining our sunny days. I decided to take a stand on Mother's Day by sitting out on my porch to knit, and knit I did. I played "sundial" by strategically moving my chair into the sun and out of the wind. Knitting with mohair while windy was posing another interesting dynamic, but alas, I spent the entire afternoon soaking up some much needed Vitamin D. Wait until you see the pop of color work on my Forest Light sweater, it is so pretty! My next big decision? WHAT TO CAST ON NEXT? I have absolutely no shortage of options, however, it creates such an overwhelming feeling of angst, which one will take priority? Perhaps FOXTHOUGHTS, technically this is already cast on, so let the juggling begin!
I received a couple more boxes of beautiful new yarn and colors last week by Berroco and Juniper Moon Farm. I decided to introduce Vintage Handpaints to the beautiful selection of Vintage already in stock. The last two colors of Cumulus finally were back in stock and ready to be in the shop. Perhaps I just answered my own question, solved my own problem, I need to knit something in Cumulus. That thought has been rolling around in the back of my mind since it first arrived, admittedly, it's created a bit of FOMO. Watching Paula, Karen, Annie and Sandy working on their KAL with this lovely yarn has only made it worse. Not to mention my latest issue of Laine has a gorgeous top that would look amazing, so much for using my stash. It would be irresponsible not to have a shop sample available, right?
Just a reminder, Addie is graduating WITH HONORS from UVM this weekend (not proud at all) which means I will be open on Thursday from 10-5:00. The shop will be closed Friday, May 15th and Saturday May 16th. Fortunately, we will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
Katy
