Good Morning Everyone!
Is it Tuesday already? Wow, this week, much like this month, has just flown by. I can't believe it's the last day of March! Spring is right on schedule, complete with snow storms not to be outdone by a solid week of rain. I have seen evidence, the crocuses have pushed their pretty little blooms up through the earth, that's all the proof I need. I even tried sitting on my porch yesterday, the sun was shining, it was warmer outside than in my house. Unfortunately, there was still a bit of a nip in the air, that last breath of winter slowly exhaling. Oh well, the sun felt really good on my face for the 5 minutes I was out there, it was a nice reminder of the days to come...I cannot wait to be out on my porch, but it won't be today.
I have set a record, I honestly can't believe it myself. I actually finished a KAL before it even started! Yup, my Clara top is done, the buttons will get sewn on today. What's even more amazing (I'm just realizing this) since finishing the last KAL, my Barley Field Slipover, I've cast on and completed my Brookline & Harvester sweaters, knit two hats, embroidered a pair of mittens, and have cast on two new projects, INCREDIBLE!! Not to mention, I'm ahead of my Spring cleaning schedule, yes, I've been cleaning my house lol. I haven't posted any pictures of Clara yet, stay tuned...I am currently cruising along on Pope Vergara's Something on Your Raglan Tee https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/something-on-your-raglan-tee I love knitting with beads! This pattern is fun to knit, it's not difficult at all, just interesting. The beadwork has (4) sections and is incorporated into the raglan increase, IT'S SO PRETTY! Don't worry, I'll post pictures.
In case you haven't heard, I received the rest of the Remix Wool dk by Berroco AND the Cumulus by Juniper Moon Farms has arrived, let the SPRING KNITTING BEGIN! We had our gathering for KAL this past Saturday, those who attended were able to see all of the pretty new yarn and colors. Cumulus is cotton (94%) with a smidge of nylon (6%) worsted weight blend, that offers a cloudlike softness, airy feel, and understated elegance. With its softly spun texture, Cumulus is a yarn of natural beauty and versatile sophistication. Its featherlight character makes it beautifully suited for garments, wraps, accessories, and heirloom baby knits. I am excited to be offering this new line of "wool free" yarn, I think it is the perfect addition to the shop.
For those of you actively participating in the HAT OF THE MONTH CLUB, the next pattern will be available tomorrow! It's so cute! Can you believe April 1st is tomorrow? It's also time to start thinking about SATURDAY, APRIL 25TH, LOCAL YARN SHOP DAY!!! I have already received lots of promotional patterns and ideas, Carrie and I have been planning, and I've ordered LYS day pins (limited number). This year, Berroco will be offering (1) FREE pattern OF YOUR CHOICE! I have an adorable FREE Scarfette pattern by Double the Stitches, along with lots of other fun surprises, MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! With LYS day on April 25th, KAL will be on April 18th from 9-11:00, don't worry, there will be reminders....
We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
Katy
