Good Morning Everyone!
I've been sitting here for the better part of 30 minutes typing and deleting and mostly staring at a blank screen, UGH!!! Know what I'm thinking? That's 30 minutes of knitting time I'll never get back lol. A bit melodramatic for this early in the day, but I'm barely through my first cup of coffee and apparently my jaunt through the woods did little to lift the fog. So now the pressure is on, I've mentally decided that the sooner I get this finished, the sooner I can resume work on my Halibut sweater. Yes, the Halibut sweater, I FINISHED MY SHIFTY 2.0!!! She is currently rolled up like a burrito waiting to get blocked. I am so pleased with the results, it has been quite a haul with this project, and finally I can say, "TA DAH!" The colors scream Fall (my favorite season) and it looks completely different from my initial vision. I honestly wasn't sure I'd even finish it, I kept changing my mind on the colors (mid project), feeling a sense of frustration, it just wasn't right. I questioned it almost until the very end when I realized my Lopi wool blanket had the exact same color combination, VALIDATION!! I am so excited to wear my new sweater, that feeling NEVER GETS OLD! So now I must decide, AGAIN, the next sweater to cast on, stay tuned....
The countdown to Small Business Saturday continues which lit the fire under my butt to finally go get my turkey so it would have time to defrost. What I didn't initially realize, was, all of this is happening next week. In my mind, I had somehow given myself an extra week. I don't pay much attention to the date on a daily basis, this is not good for a procrastinator. I must say, having Carrie as a task master has saved me more than once. I become easily overwhelmed if too much is thrown at me, so the thought of Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday, and finishing up the Advent Calendars was almost more than I could handle. Carrie's gentle daily reminders of what I need to be doing has certainly put me in front of the 8 ball for once. My turkey will have ample time to defrost, Small Business Saturday is getting promoted, and the Advent Calendars are just getting their finishing touches. Deep breath, it's all going to be AWESOME!
I am really excited so many of you have been inspired to make the hats I have recently featured. The Wicker Brim Beanie has been so popular, I had to order more yarn, THANK-YOU for that! Additionally, the Pull The Wool Over Hat using the Rozena and Paillettes has been extremely popular as well. Next up, the Chit Chat Hat, which we will be casting on for our last Holiday KAL, Wednesday, December 3rd. I have already tempted several of you with this hat, it is such a beautiful pattern. Let's not forget about Mineralogy, it uses Juniper Moon Farms' La Pampa, a lovely bulky, organic merino. These are all projects geared towards a quick knit, that you can do in a couple of evenings. It's not quite down to the wire yet, but we're about 36 days out until Christmas and 25 days until Hanukkah, so....don't be me!!!
We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
Katy
