Sheep & Wool 2026!!!
Good Morning Everyone!
I don't think I've come down from the wonderful time I had at VT Sheep & Wool, WHAT A DAY!!! The weather could not have been more perfect, it was certainly a Sweater Weather Day. The proof was in the pudding when we stopped at the Randolph rest area and encountered everyone donning their handknits, it was no secret where all the cool kids were heading. I must say, we were hard to miss, nothing like a posse of 8 women sporting their sweaters (I wore Antipodes). The fairgrounds were just buzzing with energy, it was the quintessential setting for an incredible day. I was absolutely floored by the number of cars, we arrived pretty close to opening. Oddly enough, it didn't feel claustrophobic, everyone just seemed to go with the flow. I didn't buy any yarn, I was tempted by a few lovelies, but succeeded in exercising some self control.
I managed to escape with a lovely new sheepskin from Vermont Natural Tannery, a birthday gift for Vickie, and the cutest kit from Subito Farms called Autumn Meadow Boot Embroidery Set to embellish my Blundstone boots, just you wait, it's super cute!! Kristen and I couldn't resist so we're going to jump down the rabbit hole together some afternoon. I could have bought every single one of their embroidery kits, hat kits, sweaters kits, everything! It is by far my favorite booth, the level of design and creativity absolutely grabs your eye, at least mine, lol...Of course I had to beeline to the Brown Bunny pottery table the line was stupid, I felt so bad. There was no browsing the table, you got in line and picked things up as you made your way to pay, it was insane. If she had anything left by lunchtime I'd have been surprised. I offered to help her restock her table, she could barely keep up with the demand. I left very happy with a cute little yellow chicken bowl to match the larger one I bought last year.
I saw Heidi from Dirty Girl Brands, I was able to pick up another case of her incredible, MADE IN VT Wool Shampoo. As you know, I've been restocking the shop, getting ready for the holidays to help you with your gift giving, so thoughtful, I know...I received a huge box from Maika today, the most fabulously fun project bags AND one of the items for this year's Advent Calendar. I also received a restock from Juniper Moon Farm, Moonshine & Moonshine Fine (new colors, yay!). Andra has sent me the most beautiful color cards from Symphonie Yarns, I think you will find it very much to your pleasing, the bases are only outdone by the color pallette. If you enjoy the likes of merino and silk, then you won't be disappointed. There is no superwash, and best of all, it ships from Waterbury, VT. I just received the information and haven't fully digested it, but upon a quick glance, it looks lovely.
I recently posted my Thistlewood sweater by Knit Love Wool and tagged Artyarns. This prompted Iris to reach out to see if I would be interested in adding her lines to the shop. Her products are absolutely stunning, some of the most beautiful color combinations and textures I've seen. In addition to the Merino Cloud, I will also be using the Beaded & Sequin Silk Mohair in the colorwork. This is the epitome of luxury yarn, the end result is incredible. I've used her yarn to create the most beautiful garments. Here's the link https://www.artyarns.com/about-us/ I am about 10 rounds away from adding the gorgeous poppy colored thistles to my sweater, I can't wait to see what it will look like, STAY TUNED!!
I can't wait to hear about everyone else's day at Sheep & Wool, I saw so many of you! I knew it wouldn't be worth having the shop open, everyone would be heading south, for good reason. We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch (INSIDE) I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
Katy
