The Final Week Of Summer....

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, Fall is certainly throwing some elbows, desperate to make its presence be known. I'm not complaining at all with the shift in temperatures, it was 44 degrees when Bernie and I set off for our little adventure. If I could change one thing, it would be the time the sun finally peeks up over the hill. I don't enjoy the shorter days, but as we all know, "ya can't always get what you want, but if you try real hard, you get what you need" Bernie and I certainly need that walk first thing, dark or light, warm or cold, rain or shine...

I am almost finished with my Antipodes sweater, IT IS GORGEOUS! I was not overly impressed when I first saw the design, I certainly did not experience the feeling of, I MUST KNIT THIS! I was even a bit surprised when it was selected to be our KAL, but as the saying goes, "if you can't beat them, join them." So I hopped on board with enthusiasm, mostly because I was able to bring in an old favorite, Edition 3 by Schoppel Wolle. I will say, the color combinations that were selected amongst the many participants really brought the sweater to life! Wednesday evenings have been filled with Show and Tell moments, I love seeing everyone's progress. With any luck, mine will be finished, I'm more than halfway down sleeve #2 (no surprise, they're 3/4 length). I hadn't decided if I'd go all the way, BIG DECISION! I tried it on and I just couldn't go any further. afterall, it has become my signature sleeve length.

Did you happen to see Elizabeth Smith's latest Friday Night Knit Tips newsletter? I was so excited when she reached out to me, asking if I would like to be her "Featured Photo of the Week." Of course I said, "YES!!!" She wanted to showcase her Audrey Pullover that I knit using Juniper Moon Farm Cumulus. A big thank you to her for including me, she has introduced me to her followers who have decided to not only start following me, but have subscribed to my newsletter. I am so fortunate to be part of this wonderful fiber community, it truly is a close "knit" group (crocheters, too). The shop is getting restocked with more yarn almost daily, last week I received more Woodnote dk by baa ram ewe. This week I should be receiving Aerial mohair by Berroco and, DRUMROLL PLEASE, VINTAGE!! Not a lot of Vintage, and not even the colors I ordered in April, but something is better than nothing at this point. I am beginning to lose my patience regarding my Lang order, Andra knows this, I wish I could switch distributors. The Canadians have their orders, I saw Lucinda's post. Lang is now 6 weeks late, thank you very much Local Crap (Craft) Distributors, you truly suck. Last I knew, it had arrived in Texas, is sitting in a warehouse collecting dust. Oddly, I did receive a single bag of Cloud, I have no idea why the rest of my order has not shipped, it was all in the same container from Switzerland.

Vermont Sheep and Wool is right around the corner, who's in? The dates are October 3rd & 4th, with any luck it won't be 80 degrees this year. I can go either day, Saturday is usually better, the vendors are fully stocked waiting for us to clean them out. Let me know if you are interested in carpooling down, the gates open at 10:00, we meet and depart from the shop at 8:30ish...

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch. Dress like we'll be sitting outside, we can make the decision at the time, majority rules.
