This Looks Promising!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

With the exception of a little snowstorm that is threatening to come our way, things are looking pretty sunny for the Solar Eclipse on Monday. I have much to do like gas up the truck, do a final run to the grocery store, write a newsletter, attend Stitch and Bitch, AND HOST A TRUNK SHOW!!!!! And so that she doesn't have to search for her name until the very end, ANDRA is coming to stay with me to watch the eclipse, YAY!!!!!! I am so excited for this weekend I can hardly stand it!! Zoe and Lucinda have some wonderful things planned to showcase Woolerton Estate Yarns, Lucinda is bringing several of her shop samples!!!! Zoe and I have been discussing colors, I finally left it up to her, they are all so beautiful I simply could not decide. I did get a sneak peek at the special SIGNATURE color Zoe has done for our Eclipse project the Stargazer Mittens. And if that isn't enough, I did discuss with her our next KAL, Morning Rituals to see if she could source a merino boucle for us. Guess what??? She can!!! So I hope you will all come and meet Zoe and Lucinda this Saturday, April 6th, they will be at the shop all day! I will be giving away Eclipse glasses, I have special, limited quantity, eclipse themed items available for sale. AND my beautiful Wisdom of the Moon Shawl will either be on display or on me, so stop on by!

I have also been working on fun items for Local Yarn Shop day which is Saturday, April 27th. I've ordered special point protectors and adorable enameled pins that will be available that day only and until they run out. I have also seen one of the patterns that will be FREE with purchase, it is a gorgeous shawl, Carrie and I have already put together some lovely kits. I suppose I'm lucky, most days in my shop feel like LYS day, I have the best customers that have truly become my friends. I can't thank you enough for the continued support which allows me to do what I love most, share my love of knitting and fine yarns with you. If you really want to feel the love, definitely attend a Wednesday night Stitch and Bitch, OMG we are crammed in like sardines having the time of our lives. Words can't express the joy I feel when I look around the room and see everyone engaged in laughter and having a wonderful time. Although no one is complaining, we are counting the days until it's warm enough to sit outside in the backyard. The last one in has to sit near the door, lol...

I am almost ready to post the final details for our Weekend Retreat at Susan's in Alburg. There will be rooms available at an additional cost if you would like to stay over. You may sign up for one or both days (May 18th and 19th) the meals will be catered, there will be workshops and a project included in the price per day. I'm just finishing up the materials list for the project bags and Carrie is working on the flyer. So SAVE THE DATES and know that the details will be announced shortly. This is going to be a lot of fun, the setting is absolutely beautiful!!! I love being on the water, and this does not disappoint. A weekend on the lake knitting or crocheting, I could definitely get used to this...

I am excited to report that I'm almost finished the front of my Bolan top, the back is done! This has been an extremely fun project to knit and it goes quickly. What I love about it is there's just enough lace work to keep things interesting, but not so much that I can't watch my hockey games. The construction of it is different, I've never made anything this way before, side to side and in pieces. My favorite little detail of this sweater is the decorative seam that is created up the front and back when you pick up stitches to knit the other side. Blocking is going to really showcase the lace work along the top ot the garment, I am so excited to get this off the needles and into a bath of Soak. My goal is to have it done this week, and of course there's a nasty little carrot being dangled in my face. Caitlin Hunter aka Boyland Knitworks is having an 8th Anniversary sale on her patterns, 40% off!!! I did a quick tally, I've knit 9 of her designs and I still want more!! You need to be subscribed to her newsletter to take advantage of the sale, but it runs until April 14th, subscribe, she doesn't disappoint or junk up your inbox.

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun! Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
