Good Morning Everyone!
If the reality of the holiday season hasn't smacked you between the eyes, let me help. Christmas is in one month from today, yup! I'm only mentioning it in an effort to soothe my angst as my mental "to do" list gets put down on paper, serious business. And stupidly, my well rehearsed procrastination continues to lull me into a false sense of, "I've got plenty of time." I would give anything to possess my Mimi's incredible time management skills, she was extremely organized and methodical. My mother, on the other hand, was not, yet she too was also able to pull off the most amazing feats in half the time. I would like to believe I fall somewhere in the middle, I have never stayed up until 3:00 a.m. wrapping Christmas presents wondering where all the time went. Like my mother, I do my best work under the gun, and here I am. True to myself, as one thing gets crossed off, inevitably it reminds me of something else I forgot about. As I get older, it's become easier to focus on what's important to me and less about how things used to be. The traditions are still there, now they have my special twist on them (no cranberry sauce needed here).
With Thanksgiving being later, this instantly catapults us right into the eye of the holiday storm, which I've been telling you about since July, I have proof. That said, I hope you will be able to stop by for Small Business Saturday, November 29th. I will have FREE PATTERNS available from Berroco, Amano, Lang and Lopi, how awesome is that? Additionally, I will have a beautiful collection of books from Laine Publications, several being offered for $25.00 (a HUGE BARGAIN). There will be a special customer appreciation scratch off coupon for the first 20 shoppers! Best of all, the Downtown Holiday Raffle officially starts on Black Flannel Friday, an annual effort to promote our beautiful local businesses. I look forward to seeing ALL OF YOU!!!
Next Wednesday, December 3rd, the final Holiday KAL will be happening during Stitch and Bitch, we will be casting on the Chit Chat hat. I had no idea just how much I loved this hat until I finished it, the picture does not do it justice, they rarely do. I have been wearing this hat constantly, so much so, I need to make another one to keep in the shop. Please let me know if you'd like to cast on this final project, you won't be sorry, it is so fun to knit.
We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day, I'll see you soon!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Katy
