What Decreases???

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you're enjoying this lovely stretch of amazing weather, dare I say it almost feels like summer? A big thank-you to those who joined me for World Wide Knit In Public Day, it was a beautiful morning and of course, FUN! I spent the better part of my time reknitting the left front of my Anita Cardigan. One of the things I love about this pattern is, there's more knitting and less pattern reading. That said, it's all well and good until you completely forget there's a decrease every RS row 14 times, I'd managed to successfully decrease one stitch. Just imagine the look on my face and the thought in my head when I realized what I hadn't done. It took me a hot second, I was a bit confused, what the hell? I've measured, it looks great, it's time to seam the shoulders, why does it look this way? These are the things that keep me humble and ultimately up my skill set, and unfortunately, there wasn't any way to fudge it or fix it, IT MUST BE FROGGED! The silver lining? It does go much quicker when you're losing a stitch every other row. It also doesn't hurt it's a small section and only 40 stitches to start, ending with 24. You will be relieved to know that the fronts now match, shoulder seams are seamed, and we have moved to sleeve island, stay tuned....

There's been a lot of excitement over our next KAL, Elenor Mortensen's Renaissance OR Florence sweaters. We've selected Moonshine Fine for those of you who want to knit the Renaissance sweater. The Florence uses Junction Fiber Mills Making Tracks Lite for the color work, the main color is another yarn of choice, we will be using Berroco's Lanas Light for the Main Color. I became interested in this sweater before JFM announced this sweater was going to be their Rhinebeck sweater. My thought was it would be fun to wear them to VT Sheep & Wool, which it will be!! I have a nice selection of Making Tracks and Lanas Light in the shop along with color samples of Moonshine Fine. I'd like to start our next KAL July 26th, VT Sheep & Wool is October 4&5 (pretty sure). The pattern for the Florence will be released on July 8th, I have an idea of the yardage required for each size. (2) skeins of CC and I think 3-4 skeins of Lanas Light, maybe just (2) MC for smaller sizes. The more the merrier, if you're not familiar with Elenor Mortensen, check out her Instagram @elenormortensen, her designs are incredible.

Speaking of KAL, Kirsten, the lovely designer of our Elise Pullovers would love to join us June 28th to see our sweaters. I always say I want a group picture which is incredibly difficult to accomplish. but I'd like to show her how lovely your sweaters turned out. I know it's a big ask, but if you will mark your calendars to attend this month, that would be awesome. We can also try to get a group picture(s) during Stitch and Bitch. Please bring your sweaters, finished or not, to Stitch and Bitch and we can try getting partial group pictures.

And just as summer is inching its way towards us, guess who's coming to show me the new yarns for Fall and Winter? ANDRA!! Yep, she'll be here on Thursday to tease my tactile senses and show me all the wonderful new yarns and designs for the season. Certainly feel free to stop by and say hello, there will be lots to see for sure.

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
