Good Morning Everyone!

Where to start? I have so much to tell you today! First and foremost, Elenor Mortensen's, Florence sweater design IS LIVE!!! You can find it here https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-florence-sweater there is a discount code NEWDESIGNS which will give you 25% off the pattern until July 20th (along with her other patterns). Barb already texted that she has her pattern printed and is excited to start. I am excited to start too, I finally decided on a color combination, that was a challenge!! It's so easy to become pigeon holed into your usual color scheme, I fall victim too. I would be lying if I said I went way outside my wheelhouse, oddly, pink has somehow found its way into my world. I picked Winterberry and Chocolate, I do love pink and brown together, I think it will be pretty, if not, I blame Carrie..... Definitely let me know if you would like to participate in our next KAL. We had discussed the option of knitting the Renaissance or Florence, I believe that everyone has shifted over to the Florence. Speak now or forever hold your peace...

The next big announcement, Berroco has flipped their website over to Fall/Winter 2025-26 TODAY! Andra and I met a few weeks ago and looked at all of the beautiful new designs and yarns, oooh la la!! My favorite is Aurelia, it is GORGEOUS!!! It's a cotton core infused chainette with merino wool fibers which gives it a velvety, lightweight feel to the finished fabric. I do believe we all know just how fabulous it is to work with chainette yarns, they are incredibly lightweight and resist pilling. Don't get me started on the pattern support for this yarn, I'm just going to say GALBA....What's even more exciting? Andra will be here, September 24th, for a try on TRUNK SHOW! She will have garments with her from this collection along with others, mark your calendars!!!

Other big news in my world, I FINISHED THE ANITA CARDIGAN!!!! Can I just say, AGAIN, how much I loved knitting this sweater?!? Aside from the small hiccup of forgotten neckline decreases, this cardigan was a fantastic project, so well written (Margaux Hufnagel). I can envision this pattern in so many different yarns, Lanas Light, Remix Light, Modern Linen, Gaia. The I-cord finish around the fronts is stunning, it's such a lovely detail. If you are looking for a rather mindless, but interesting project, consider this adorable cardigan. Mine is almost dry, I'll be sewing the buttons on later today and wearing it as soon as Mother Nature allows. Got to love this roller coaster of a ride for weather we've been experiencing, oy vey...

The Great Northern Yarn Haul is under way!!! I had a fantastic kick off weekend, despite it being the 4th of July. We will be doing our annual group Yarn Haul trek on Wednesday, July 23rd, Carrie has it all mapped out. We will meet at my house at 8:00 a.m. load up and take off for a day full of wool, fun and friendship. I have a list of those who will be attending, let me know if you'd like to come along for the ride, IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. If you still haven't started your "haul" yet, perhaps I can entice you with a SALE. During this week's GNYH I will be offering 20% off all IN STOCK summer yarns. I will be posting a video later, but wanted to give you the heads up first, I need to make room for all the new Fall/Winter yarns coming our way.

I wasted absolutely no time picking up the Flower Child once I'd placed my Anita Cardigan into her bath to relax and soak. The design around the yoke of this sweater is simply stunning, I just love it. What I love even more is getting walked through the steps of a new stitch and understanding how the construction of the stitch enhances the pattern. I used to get really nervous if a stitch had too many steps to it, so cumbersome, ugh...now I realize that with just a bit of effort you can really create some incredible textured garments. Who thinks of this stuff?? Seriously, the butterfly stitch? Stay tuned, I'll show you what a butterfly stitch looks like.

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
