Almost There...

Good Morning Everyone!

I never tire of the feeling of accomplishment when nearing the end of a project, big or small. My Clay Cardigan will be on the blocking mats with a fan blowing on high this afternoon. I tried to finish up a couple rows of ribbing last night, but it was getting late and I needed to go to bed. I'd already discovered a dropped stitch, not an easy task with brushed Suri alpaca, but the bead work repeats don't lie lol...I figured I'd better quit while I was ahead. This would have been the most boring sweater to knit had it not been for the beads. Not only did it add some mental stimulation, it creates such an interestingly tactile fabric, the sweater just screams, "I'm fun!!" I absolutely love it, the color is amazing, it's so soft and extremely lightweight, and best of all, I GET TO CAST ON A NEW SWEATER!!!!!

I can't decide what to start next, believe me, there's no shortage of options, if anything, I'm completely overwhelmed, too many choices. Such a dilemma, I know you know just how I feel, there's so much to consider. I was all set to do Forest Light by Jennifer Steingass, I may still, but I really like the Audrey Pullover and all the cool girls are knitting it, or maybe I should figure out which sweater to knit with the Cloud by Lang, it's bulky weight, or I do have that lovely Artesia. Or maybe I should wait until the other color of Marilyn comes in and I'll cast on the Stromboli by Caitlin Hunter. I could just work on the Elise Pullover...is anyone else laughing hysterically?? First world problem for sure, I'm certain I'll figure something out, try not to worry about me...

If you're looking for a small project, I do still have the Pressed Flowers Kerchief kits available. This is the perfect introduction to mosaic knitting. I found it to be a lot of fun to do, I enjoyed watching the flowers evolve and the pattern created by slipping stitches. Did I mention there's chocolate in those kits? I also did a video last week showcasing the Jo March mitts, Berroco's Talara would make the coziest little pair of mitts to wear while our weather decides which season it would like to be. I'm not really looking forward to the forecast of 48 degrees and rain tomorrow, it's going to be such a sloppy mess. But the weather is always a tad bit more palatable when you have something stylish and functional to ward of the weather. It's worth mentioning that I will be receiving the rest of the order of Juniper Moon Farm, Moonshine, or as Lisa calls it, Bootlegger. I love this yarn, it's a scrumptious blend of organic merino, silk and alpaca, it is just delightful. If you haven't properly introduced yourself to this yarn, I highly recommend that you do. I also did a reorder from Junction Fiber Mill, Making Tracks Light. If you've been wanting to knit up an Alpine Bloom sweater before Spring arrives, I have some lovely colors arriving that will pair nicely with The Exotic by Woolerton Estates.

I received an email from our neighbor to the north, Julie Asselin. She would like to come visit the shop during Stitch and Bitch and showcase more of her beautiful yarns. I think you would enjoy meeting her and seeing everything she has to offer, she has a lovely selection of weights and colors and would make a nice addition to the shop. I will coordinate with her and let you know when she plans to join us. A reminder that Knitter's Anonymous will be meeting this Monday, March 10th 4:00-??? at Carla's house. We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
