Giving Thanks...

Good Morning Everyone!

So I've been sitting here for the better part of an hour trying to figure out what to say. I'm so frustrated I'm tempted to say Happy Thanksgiving, don't eat too much unless it's pie...My coffee cup is as empty as my thoughts this morning, UGH!!! Maybe I should just stick to the few things I need to say and call it done, lol...

This weekend is the official start up of holiday shopping and the beginning of the Downtown Holiday Raffle!! I will be open on Friday and of course for SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY!! To celebrate, Berroco is offering free patterns (1 knit, 1 crochet) with the purchase of yarn. If you're still in search of some great holiday gift ideas, look no further, I will be featuring lovely patterns by Brynn Riordan. Many of us are Louise Penny fans and Brynn has cleverly designed a "Three Pines" inspired collection of a hat, cowl and mittens. I can't take credit, it's Carrie of course....If you haven't been introduced to Three Pines yet, now is your chance. I was instantly hooked on this charming series, set in the Eastern Townships just north of the border. If you haven't read her, I highly recommend that you start with Still Life and proceed in order, you'll thank me....My perfect afternoon is defined by a good book, Bernie at my feet and knitting in my hands. Guess what I'll be doing later?

I've actually been rather organized this year, I'm absolutely shocked and have no idea who this person is. I'm not so sure the Queen of Procrastination is dead, but her wily twin has taken the reins, this is a new experience for me. The Advent Calendar Boxes are ready for pick-up, I can't believe it! I did have a rather puzzling experience, I have an extra "surprise" leftover and I shouldn't. I may be organized this year, but apparently still human. I did check the boxes and couldn't figure out which one was missing this particular prize. All is not lost, I have it and if yours is the box I goofed on, you'll just get your prize late. It is labeled #10, I know Susan is tearing hers apart making sure lol...everything is individually wrapped so it's safe to open the box up.

I finished the front design of my Meissa sweater yesterday, it's so pretty! Now it's just knitting in the round for what will feel like eternity. I'm already thinking about what to cast on next, I have quite a queue. Wanda and I had talked about casting on our Foxthoughts sweaters (16 colors in the colorwork) There's a beautiful new pattern called the Field Cardigan, I have my Whitehorse sweater...so many choices!! Of course if I were being responsible, I'd digest the details of the Spot Sweater, I'm pretty sure this is what our next KAL is going to be.

Andra was here this past Wednesday for Stitch and Bitch, it was so much fun! We were able to see the new Spring and Summer yarns. She also brought several of her sweaters, her most recent one being another Big Love knit up with West Yorkshire Spinners Croft Shetland Tweed. There was much discussion about the next KAL and I've been eyeing the Spot Sweater for over a year. We haven't officially voted, but we did have KAL this past Saturday and everyone was on board for the Spot Sweater, YAY! Here's the link: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spot-sweater-2 take a look at all of the projects that have been completed so you can see all of the lovely color combinations. I think this will be another interesting project that will push you out of your comfort zone a bit. Remember, SAFETY IN NUMBERS!!! I did enjoy seeing the wonderful progress you've been making on your Big Love Cardigans, great job everyone! Claudia has finished her Great Love (it has pockets) it's perfect for a cold day like today. For those of you who have missed the "memo" you can use a FAKE TUBULAR BIND OFF versus the traditional tubular bind off. Thanks to Andra for that suggestion!!! If you need help, stop by...

We won't be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday, for Stitch and Bitch. I figured most would be busy with family and meal prep for Thanksgiving. I've already made my stuffing, and plan on doing the sweet and mashed potatoes today (who is this imposter?). You'd think I was expecting an army when in fact it's just going to be the three of us...Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, travel safe and enjoy! I look forward to seeing everyone for Small Business Saturday! Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
