Good Morning Everyone!
Well, we made it through the entire month of May without snow!!! A bit of rainy weather over the weekend has made my gardens finally start to wake up. I do have a few tulips hanging in there, my Lily of The Valley is still fragant, and the irises are gorgeous. The little Siberian irises are my favorite, their color pops so nicely against the pink lupine. I just love watching the progression of the buds explode into color, I can't wait for the peonies to open up. I'm not much of a gardener at all, and like most things, I fly by the seat of my pants. Thankfully my lack of order and neatness also transfers into my gardening, although I do give my gardens more attention than my dusting duties. I don't mind having red clover and dandelions scattered throughout my garden, if it has a flower on it, it can stay. That said, I have a bit of a problem with a rather invasive visitor called Snow On The Mountain, ugh....I've been told by many what needs to happen, seems like way too much effort. I will maintain, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
I finished knitting my Patti tank a few days ago, I LOVE IT! I have been so thrilled with my 2 new tank tops, the yarn yielded absolutely gorgeous results. I was not impressed at all with Zinnia when Andra first showed it to me, seemed drab and rather blah. Admittedly I didn't swatch it and was judging it based on the ball, man I was wrong! I completely underestimated the texture those little flecks of color created and the overall effect it has all knit up. It is now off the blocking mats and hanging on my drying rack, it should be ready to wear by tomorrow. Many of you have knit your summer sweater KAL using Zinnia, the Phillipa has been extremely popular. The Derecho knit in Remix Light has been another stylish project, I've knit that sweater twice. Lang's Linello has been the biggest pleasant surprise, my Carden tank is by far my favorite top, I've already worn it a lot. Kathleen showed me her progress Friday night during our weekly Zoom, I just love how Linello shades. Sandy was working on her Isabell Kraemer top using my signature "green" to create her summer top, it is stunning!! I was surprised that the pattern support featured mostly shawls, it really lends itself to sweaters/tanks.
I mentioned last week the mask protocol for the shop, it's pretty easy. If you are fully vaccinated you do not have to wear a mask inside the shop, for Stitch and Bitch or KAL. Please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated. If you are vaccinated and still would prefet the extra layer of security of mask wearing, I am happy to comply and put one on. I do still have What A Yarn masks for sale at the shop for $10, they are by far the most comfortable (and cutest) ones I wear.
We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday, from 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch in my backyard. Make it a great day and I hope to see you soon!
