Good Morning Everyone!

Springtime in Vermont is tricky, isn't it? All of the signs have arrived, trees are budding, flowers are blooming and we finally have more than 8 hours of daylight!! Isn't it glorious? If you focus on the beauty and ignore the 20-40 degree temperature swings, then you've definitely figured out how to survive Spring. But for now, I am going to completely enjoy the beautiful sunshine that has decided to stay (I think this is day 5). Porch season is officially here!!

Before I go any further, THANK YOU, TO EVERYONE WHO SHOPPED ON LOCAL YARN STORE DAY, wherever you participated! I appreciate those who made their way into my shop or sent me messages wishing they could visit. It truly was a wonderfully busy day, everyone was so happy and excited, the energy was amazing! Hands down, the most popular yarn sold was Marilyn by Juniper Moon Farm, the new colors are AMAZING, I can't wait to see your new projects cast on. A BIG THANK YOU TO CARRIE!!!!!!!!

I did something last night, I went to the other side, I am a hooker... I have decided I can no longer ignore the crocheter in me, she's there (thanks, Mimi). I have the dexterity and skill set, I just need to understand where the hook goes and what I am looking at, lol. I went to Kay's house last night, joining Martha and Rachel, and started down another rabbit hole. I am making a purple soap sack, it's really cute. What's really interesting? I crochet wicked loose. It's uniform, but my approach is the complete opposite from knitting. My death grip knitting technique, developed over my insane attempt to have my stitches completely uniform, which to me meant tight as a drum. Crocheting presented the opposite problem, leaving that stitch loose enough so I can easily get the hook back through without splitting the stitch. I am actually enjoying this quite a bit, the construction is very interesting, it's not knitting. I am, however, creating new muscle memory in my old brain, I have to believe that's good for me, right? Get those synapses firing off in a new direction. Not to mention, it's pretty quick. Like if I knew what I was doing I could have a dozen of those soap sacks finished, I just know it lol...never a shortage of confidence. Stay tuned as I continue with my crocheting adventure, I do need another thing to make me swear.

I'm still making great progress on Pope Vergara's Something On Your Raglan Tee, I'm cruising on the body with inches to go. I have two weeks and a few days to finish this in time for Addie's graduation weekend. Please note, the shop will be closed Friday May 15th & Saturday May 16th so we can celebrate with Addie. Two weeks is ample time to finish the sweater, I'm just not sure if I can wrap my mind around the fact that she's graduating already, time flies...

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, if it's nice, we'll be outside!! I will have my crochet project with me, I can't wait for you to see it. I'll also share why the sudden need to crochet, again (I've done this before). Make it a great day and I hope to see you soon!

Katy
