Rain, Rain, Rain....

Good Morning Everyone!

Another lovely, rainy, Spring day, how lucky we are... It's funny to think, way back towards the end of last April, I was concerning myself with being able to complete and wear a certain sweater before it got too warm. There's nothing worse than finishing a sweater just in time for the wrong season. Little did I know just how much opportunity I would have to wear that sweater, I WAS WEARING THAT SWEATER YESTERDAY, JUNE 9TH!  As a matter of fact, I've worn that sweater waaaaay more than I care to admit. In case you're wondering, it's my Il Grande Favorito in Lang Cloud. I suppose, the better way to look at it is, good thing I have this new, cozy sweater to keep me warm during these chilly spring days. It is a tad bit heavier than my traditional "transitional" sweater.

I was able to squeeze in a few hours of yard work while the sun graced us with her presence lol... More importantly, I spent some quality time on my glider knitting away. Most of my focus has been on the Anita Cardigan https://berroco.com/patterns/anita This pattern is fabulous to knit, the textured stitch is fun to create and there's more "knitting" and less reading involved. It's shown as a summer sweater, but I can easily see this knit with Lanas Light, Carousel, Double held Aerial, Lanas Light plus Aerial, Remix Light plus Aerial....oooh, la, la so many possibilities.

Of course, I'm trying to cruise through this sweater because, we will be starting the next KAL soon. We've been discussing Elenor Mortensen's Renaissance sweater, we'd actually pretty much decided on it, then we hit a fork in the road. Elenor is getting ready to release her latest design called Florence (it's not on Ravelry until July 8th). She collaborated with Junction Fiber Mill and used Making Tracks Lite for the color work and I believe Root for the Main Color. It got me thinking that we should do this sweater and wear them to Vermont Sheep and Wool. Interestingly enough, when I opened up JFM newsletter last week, they announced that Florence is going to be this year's Rhinebeck Sweater. So, I think that we need to figure out an order sooner than later so we can get ahead of the wave. I would love nothing more than to support a Vermont based company, and we all love Junction Fiber Mill. Stop by if you're interested in signing up for our next KAL. If you would rather knit Renaissance, that's no problem at all, we can do an Elenor Mortensen KAL.

This Saturday, June 14th, is WORLD WIDE KNIT/CROCHET IN PUBLIC DAY!! We will be gathering from 9-11:00 at the fountain in Taylor Park. You may either sit on the granite benches (which are usually wet & cold) or bring a camp chair. Should it decide to rain, we can meet underneath the bandstand. We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
