Good Morning Everyone!
Well, somehow when I closed down my tab looking to copy a pattern link to share, I lost my original newsletter, fucking hell....Oh well, here we go again, it will be the abbreviated version as my patience just flew out the window. To recap: I am working away on my Quiltstar Shawl, oddly, this project has managed to hold my attention, so much so, the temptation to cast on my Thistlewood sweater has been resisted. I have wound up my gorgeous Artyarns Cloud & Beaded Silk Mohair, but it has remained tucked away in my project bag. I should swatch it at least, just incase I decide I need a change of scenery. I am almost finished with Clue #3 of the MKAL, one more side square section to finish up then I get to pick up the stitches along one of the sides to begin the first wing. Maybe I'll swatch it after this section is finished, maybe...
I received an email from Elizabeth Smith, she's in the process of releasing her Buoy series. She offered the shop owners a sneak peek of the pattern and the opportunity to knit up the Buoy Kerchief, of course I couldn't resist. It's absolutely adorable and is the perfect take along project for vacation, or in my case, PORCH TIME! I was excited to see it uses worsted weight cotton, ooh la la! Serendipity, I have Blue Sky Fiber Organic cotton, Juniper Moon Farm Cumulus & Cumulus Matisse or Berroco Iris each would be perfect for this project. Now I need to decide which one I want to use! And just like that I'm back to juggling 4 projects, lucky me!!!
I met with Andra last week, we had a fabulous time "working" on the porch picking out all the lovely new yarns for the shop. I ordered beautiful variegated yarns from Lang, wait until you see! Some of them you know, like Mille Colori Baby, remember??? I love that I've been in business long enough to see trends coming back, like the Zick Zack scarf. Apparently there's a show on in Britain, one of the characters is wearing that scarf, now it's the rage, again. I would be willing to bet there are several of you ahead of the game and have it started (Sandy). Here's the link (this is where things went terribly wrong about 30 minutes ago, UGH!!) https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/zickzack-scarf I have this yarn already on its way, it's another perfect summer knitting project. I am also restocking Lang's Cloud simply because I received so many compliments on my Il Grande Favorito I figured it was a good idea to restock it. Plus it's so soft and cozy, who wouldn't want it? Here's the link to the sweater https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/il-grande-favorito New to the shop will be Twister and Infinity, they are stunning! Andra will be sending me the most beautiful crochet End To End scarf she made using Infinity. I may need to go see Kay for some help, I really want one of my own!! Stay tuned...
I also decided to try out a new line from Baa Ram Ewe, Coast, which is a lovely Aran weight British wool. It would be perfect for the Weekender by Andrea Mowry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-weekender-5 or Amy Christoffers Felix https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/felix-pullover I will be ordering their Woodnote DK soon, wait until you see that!!
We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
