Good Morning Everyone!
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you EVERYONE!!! Local Yarn Store Day would not have been any fun without each and every one of you. At the end of the day, I was happy to have seen so many of my friends, and that you all have awesome new projects to start working on!!! I would hate to think that you were bored with nothing to do. I'd be an absolute failure to allow your hands and minds to become idle, especially since we just love to make the pretty things! I can't wait to see your progress, with this week's rainy forecast you should have plenty of time for knitting. In case you missed the video announcing the winners of the Prizes, they are Stacie Scangas, Fran Cloutier, and Sara Birnbaum, YAY!!!
I've been working on my Drawing Sweater and Manarola while watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I'm sad to say that my Avalanche were eliminated by the Kraken due to someone being offsides thus having the tying goal taken away, @#$%&*!!! I'm still quite proud of their efforts considering their entire season has been plagued with serious injuries and they've been without their Captain from the beginning. Perhaps, if I'm not as distracted by the game, I will be able to follow the CORRECT size for my Manarola. I had a rather scary moment when I realized I was following the wrong chart. I honestly don't know how or why it happened, I hadn't made a mistake and the color work was, well, perfect. I just got that weird feeling something wasn't right and low and behold I should have been following the chart for sizes 3 & 4 not 1 & 2, UGH!!! The good news is, the colorwork is pretty much the same, my size has an additional row before an additional increase row that the smaller size doesn't, dodged a bullet. I wasn't looking forward to tinking it out and am relieved it's not necessary, it happens to be a section that has three colors going. I hate working three colors, it's such an effort not to get the yarn all tangled up like a game of cat's cradle. I have since crossed out the other charts to avoid any futher confusion, it was done with a bit of aggression and in ink.
I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with my Drawing Sweater, it's so pretty! A few of us have decided to do a split hem and I'm almost finished the ribbing on the front, the back is done. The sleeves won't take too long, I'm doing my signature 3/4 length. Barring any major incidents, I should have it finished this week. With the temperature being what it is, I may be able to wear it once, maybe even twice when Andra visits in a few weeks. I would like to believe we'll be further along in our Spring time temperatures, but it is Vermont and my snow tires are finally scheduled to come off May 11th, let's hope I won't need them. The Sorels remain by the front door....
We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday, from 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!!!
Katy
