The Little Things...

Good Morning EveryoneI

My Mimi always told me that good things come in small packages (she meant me) and the smallest acts of kindness can have the biggest impact, words of wisdom for sure. I was "researching" (scrolling through Instagram) pictures to use for the newsletter and checking the many comments regarding the button selection for the red Cribbage sweater when I saw a notification on Facebook. It was from one of my former antique vendors, Linda Carlson, she'd seen my Advent Calendar post.

I spent yesterday afternoon tediously wrapping Advent Calendar surprises, yet again, working on my day off. I posted pictures of the fruits of my labor, mostly to tease Susan, and to give a visual of what 500 individually wrapped items looks like. I was feeling a bit resentful, I would have rather been knitting all afternoon, but let's face it, this isn't a task that can be completed quickly. If I procrastinated, I would completely hate myself and the fun would be sucked away. Then I read this, "There is no woman in business for herself who gets more enjoyment out of it than you. Your energy, your creative approach, is unique. I love and watch all of your videos, events, etc. I have never held a pair of knitting needles in my hands and now with arthritic hands even opening a door can be a struggle. I'm so happy to have worked with you in the beginning as an antique dealer in your downtown location. You inspire me and so many others. Charge on and never stop loving what you do. Love Linda" Mic drop....I do love my business and the hope is my love and enthusiasm for knitting, yarn, friendship, creativity, and problem solving is something I can continue to share with you. A bit sappy I know, the holidays are always a tough time of the year for me, feeling the feels....so thank-you Linda for such kind words, I will charge on.

Speaking of charging on, guess what I'm doing tomorrow?!?!?!? Meeting with Andra to order Spring/Summer 2024. It gets better, she's joining us tomorrow evening for Stitch and Bitch!!! She'll be bringing some of her latest creations to inspire you, I guess I'm not enough lol. I know she will want to see all of the Big Loves in progress, I'll be wearing mine, bragging of course!! For some stupid reason I honestly thought I would have my Meissa finished by the time I met with her, NOPE! It is coming along beautifully, I'm almost finished with the front chart, should be done today. I do need to knit a swatch or two from the new yarns that she sent me, I've been meaning to, but Bernie chewed that needle(s)...

I hope you enjoy the cute little birdy, I figured a pop of fun color would be much appreciated since it's been so dismally gray and blah. Plus, I wasted at least an hour scrolling through and looking at all kinds of useless reels and pictures, I needed to justify my time in some small way. I would be further along with my sweater if I stopped getting distracted by the number of responses I've been getting to my "which button shall I use?" post. The middle and bottom are neck in neck, I'll be doing a final tally later today and let you know. Don't forget, we have KAL this Saturday, November 18th 9-11:00. We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
