Good Morning Everyone!

As I've said many times before, it takes a village. I am incredibly thankful for mine and for those who make it what it is. It reminds me that I am not alone, and the community that has evolved by having my shop is simply priceless. The connections and friendships are what help me navigate trying times and to push forward with my tits up. I've never been one to bury my head, but it's easy to feel despair when our country and leaders fail. Don't worry, this isn't political, it's about humanity. In the past few days, the universe has put people into my life who serve as a reminder that love trumps hate and light kills darkness. My little community is the epitome of coexistence and acceptance, my hope is there are enough of them throughout our incredibly diverse country to help change the climate we are facing. The words, "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." must never be forgotten or overlooked. Thank you to all of you who are part of my village, it is special to me and gives me purpose...

Speaking of village, the next KAL is starting this Saturday, January 24th 9-11:00 we're casting on either the Leticia Vest or the Barley Field Slipover. It's not too late to join, I am really excited that there are a few that will be knitting "in spirit" with us. I had a lovely conversation with a new friend, Beth, from Rockport, ME yesterday. She found me on Instagram and proceeded to tell me all kinds of things that made me feel really good about myself, THANK-YOU! Her timing was fantastic, I recently had someone give me crap about not having an online store, like I should be doing better, WHATEVER...Success comes in many forms, I prefer having human connection, and I would much rather talk to someone than become a fulfillment center. Honestly, it would likely cut into my precious knitting time, then I wouldn't have all of those inspirational sweaters for you to see and knit!

It has recently been brought to my attention, that even those that live closer than Rockport, ME would really benefit from an online group experience, specifically Knit Alongs. I will be creating a Facebook What A Yarn Knit Along Group page where you can interact with others in the group. I will let you know when the page is created, it will be similar to Knitter's Anonymous, it will be a private group although all are encouraged to sign up. I'm going to attempt this today when I need a break from the mindless knitting of my HARVEST FLOWER SWEATER!! I'm cruising on the body, halfway done already! I sat and watched my Colorado Avalanche CRUSH the Washington Capitals in hockey. Of course, I could cast on a certain Red Norwegian Resistance hat, I've been having a love affair with red recently. Here's the pattern if you're interested https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/melt-the-ice-hat you can use fingering, dk or worsted. The temperatures are going to drop again, you can't have too many warm hats...

I will be receiving my shipment of Pom poms on Friday for those of you who have been waiting patiently. I've had a lot of you participate in the Hat of the Month Club, Cindy recently posted her finished crochet hat, SUPER CUTE!! Carrie and I will be getting ready to tell you all about February's Hat, so stay tuned!! A quick note about Berroco, they are still trying to work out the kinks with the computer migration, shipping is super slow both Dropship and to retailers. I have a huge restock of needles and notions arriving from Accessories Unlimited, of course, I forgot to order pom pom makers, UGH!!!

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy

PS Once again, the beautiful watercolor featured is by the very talented Katharine Montstream
