Good Morning Everyone!
HAPPY FALL!!!! It's my favorite time of the year, I absolutely love it! I don't care that the days are getting shorter, although it's making Stitch and Bitch a challenge. Oh well, after summer's stubborn departure, I've successfully transitioned to Fall. My dining room is already decorated for Thanksgiving, unbelievable lol...With Fall comes all of my favorite things, apple picking, cider doughnuts, sweater weather, foliage, cooler temperatures, no mosquitoes, AND ANDRA'S TRUNK SHOW!!!! I've only been talking about it for weeks and it's finally happening TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 25!!! I am so excited for you to see all of the beautiful sweaters she will be bringing. Not only will you be able to see them, you can try them on!! How awesome is that? I've been watching the weather, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully today's sunshine will stick around and keep away the rain. Regardless, it will be an evening of fun, slow fashion, so please stop by!!!
Have you been following the Broodhaha online auction? Better yet, have you been visiting the shops downtown to see them? I am so excited about the community's response to our beautiful chickens!! I received an email from Arleigh, we've raised over $6,000.00 so far. I do hope you will be able to join in the festivities at City Hall, this Friday night, September 27th at 5:30. The chickens will be going home with their new owners, there will be libations and food available. I do hope to see as many of you as possible, without you, it would not have happened. Together, we contributed 87 chickens. I haven't checked recently, but Miss Beadle was in the lead with a bid of $250.00 and Shirley was at $100.00, JUST WOW!!! Every single chicken has been bid on, so each one will go to a new home. Thank-you again for being the amazing group of friends who continue to support my efforts, I am truly blessed.
I am almost finished with my Autumn Alpine sweater. Any idea why sleeves seem to take so freaking long to do? I have the cuff to do on sleeve #2, admittedly I feel like this should have been done days ago. What happened, you ask? Well, I've had this weird nesting experience come over me, must be the hot flashes lol. I'VE BEEN CLEANING MY HOUSE!!! Everyone knows I absolutely hate to clean, but for some reason (ANDRA IS STAYING WITH ME) I've been cleaning like a crazy woman. Wait, I am a crazy woman. Of course I did wait until just about the last moment to do this knowing that it was a now or never situation. I've always performed much better under pressure, but my knitting time has suffered severely. It's ok though, I'll still be ready to cast on my Morning Rituals sweater BEFORE KAL this Saturday, September 28th 9-11:00. I'd like to have a good understanding of what's going on so if anyone has questions, I'll of course have an answer. Let me clarify, a correct, confident answer lol...
With my recent trip to Sutton, you all know (along with 8,321 other followers) I didn't get out of Lucinda's shop without a new project. I seriously was not going to buy anything, well, maybe a new project bag...Sheep and Wool is coming up, I have bit of a queue of sweaters already, BUT IT WAS A BEE VEST!!! I love bees, they represent life and are crucial to our food chain. My recent tattoo incorporated my Zodiac sign, our lovely state flower, Red Clover and Bees. Naturally when I saw the vest in person, I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! So now that I am almost finished with my Autumn Alpine, I am going to cast on this vest soon! I absolutely love vests, and this one is so cute, I can't wait for you to see it!!! I'm using Julie Asselin's Fino (which I have in the shop) and mohair, let me know if you're interested, I can easily get beads for the bees....
As mentioned, KAL is this Saturday, September 28th 9-11:00, we're casting on Morning Rituals by Andrea Mowry. It's also Emma's wedding day!!! I will be closing the shop at 3:00 so I can make it up to Smuggler's Notch. I hope to see a ton of you tomorrow, Wednesday, September 25th for the Trunk Show, it's going to be FUN!! Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
