Good Morning Everyone!

All I can say is, tomorrow will be SO MUCH FUN!! Mother Nature may or may not cooperate, but I can leave that little detail until the last moment, we did move on the fly last year. I can hardly get upset about the rain, we need it so desperately. In case you forgot, Andra is helping me host a FANTASTIC TRUNK SHOW!! We've been doing it for several years simply because IT IS SO MUCH FUN!! What better way to not only see and touch the newest yarns, but to try on this season's latest fashion pieces. I've been riding the MOHAIR train pretty hard for a few years, wait until you see Aerial Degrade. FYI, I'm already signed up for a test knit by Elizabeth Smith that specifically calls for this yarn, stay tuned!!! Good thing too, I'm just moments away from finishing my Lace Rib Raglan, STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS!

I knit up a cute hat called Mineralogy using Juniper Moon Farm La Pampa, I love this yarn. It would make an amazing Il Favorito Grande, do I need a fifth one? This bulky 100% organic merino is so soft, especially after it has a little soak in some SOAKWASH. I knew it wasn't going to jump off the shelf without being knit, it is so uninteresting on the hank. It's not one of those yarns that you pick up and starting "Oooing" which is fine, it completely transforms once you work with it. It's worth mentioning that I knit the hat in a day, hint, hint, great HOLIDAY GIFT...we are 92 days away from Christmas, YOU ARE WELCOME!

Because the holidays are coming and you have gifts to make and give, I've started getting in all kinds of fun little things. I have adorable Mistletoe Sock kits from The Fibre Co, these are new to the shop and incredible! Each kit comes in a canvas project bag, the pattern and (3) skeins of Amble to complete your socks. Amble is a fingering weight yarn made from a blend of eco-friendly washable wool, alpaca, and recycled nylon which makes it an easy care yarn.

Cocoknits has just announced a brand new item to add to their incredible inventory of gadgets and notions, it's a Project Keeper. They are made from the same material as the Maker's Boards and Portfolios. You use it to keep all the details of any project organized in a retro style box. Knitting, crochet, quilting, needlework, and more - record the tools, pattern, sizes, materials, recipient, and other important information. Keep the tag with the project for notes on the go, then file in the Project Keeper when complete. The folders can hold a swatch, yarn labels, and other materials, along with the project tag. A portion of each sale will be donated to Loose Ends to support their ongoing work. Loose Ends is an international organization dedicated to easing grief, creating community, and inspiring generosity by matching handworkers with projects left undone due to death or disability.  Of course I absolutely love the idea of supporting an organization like Loose Ends. Currently, they seem to only be listed on the wholesale website, I'm going to order some, they would be a great gift for sure!!

Speaking of gifts, I know many of you give yourself an Advent Calendar each year, if you want one, now if the time to sign up! They are limited, and first come first served, I will not be able to create more. I have ordered from several new vendors, my guest room is filling up with all of the boxes full of gadgets and notions, not to mention the YARN!! The project Carrie found is so fantastic, I am super excited.

Now that I have your attention, just a few reminders: KAL is this Saturday, September 27th from 9-11:00, we're working on those Florence sweaters, time is a ticking!! VT SHEEP & WOOL is the weekend of October 4th & 5th, THE SHOP WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 4TH. We will be meeting at the shop to caravan down, let me know if you will be joining us. On Wednesday, October 8th, during Stitch and Bitch, I will be hosting the first HOLIDAY KAL, the Novus Knit Pouch $35. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KNIT THE POUCH, YOU CAN STILL ATTEND. Questions? Reach out. I would like to know in advance if you'd like to participate, I'll be sure to have enough kits ready to go.

I think that's it for now everyone! Andra arrives today, we have lots of time to get organized and set up for tomorrow's big event. WE WILL BE STARTING AT 5:00. As you know it's getting dark earlier, so we thought we'd try to begin a little sooner. We may be inside, who knows, but it's happening, and I hope you can join in the fun! Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
