Only Gloom, No Doom...

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is one of those days where my mood is matching the color of the clouds, I'm feeling rather gray and uninspired. Instead of my hike bringing me joy, it was a true test of agility and balance as we made our way through the woods on a sheet of glare ice (yes, I was wearing my spikes). I do view these moments as opportunities, a chance to reflect and know, the conditions are temporary, it won't last forever, and once the sun comes back, things will look and feel better. The forecast is not looking too promising so the best way I can handle yet another gloomy day is to keep knitting my beautiful Harvest Flower sweater. OMG, it is gorgeous, I finished the flowers, THANK GOD, it requires carrying 3 colors which I have never enjoyed, it slows me down. That said, it makes me appreciate the ease of only working with two colors which I can now do easily two handed with floats. Every cloud truly has a silver lining, sometimes you just have to be patient until it appears.

I have been so excited with the popularity of the HAT OF THE MONTH club! I cannot wait to see your hats! What's been even more exciting, it has brought many back into the shop that I haven't seen in awhile, that feels so good! I know life gets busy and it's easy to lose focus, that's why you have me! The little spark of inspiration to remind you how important it is to take time for yourself. I am still waiting for my beautiful order of Pom Poms to arrive, I will let you know when they get here. I will also be getting Pom Pom makers back in stock, along with the very popular #6 16" circular needles. I have already picked out February's knitted hat pattern, it is just adorable!

The next KAL is scheduled to start Saturday, January 24th 9-11:00. Many of you have already picked out your yarn for either the Leticia Vest (knit with Vento) or the Barley Field Slipover (Moonshine & Aerial have been most popular). I have an order arriving from Berroco which will have not only more MOHAIR, but 10 bags of Remix Wool DK!!! My Brookline sweater has generated much interest, not surprised, lol...I had been looking for a new DK and thought I would give it a try, I love it! It is so soft and creates fantastic stitch definition, the cables simply pop. Stay tuned, I will let you know when it gets here. If you missed my Ooey Gooey video, have no fear, Carla has lent me hers so you can see just how beautiful it is. So many sweaters, so many projects, keeps the mind and hands busy with things that bring joy. There isn't such a thing as too much JOY, I dare you to prove me wrong!

We will be meeting tomorrow evening Wednesday, 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day day and I'll see you soon! The lovely watercolor featured this morning is by Vermont artist Katherine Montstream, I love her work!

Katy
