Sign Of The Times...

Good Morning Everyone!

I can safely say there is no denying what's coming around the corner, FALL!!! My absolute favorite season for so many reasons, and it's not the pumpkin spice lol...The appearance of red maple leaves on the ground, the coolness in the air and best of all, MY NEW YARN HAS STARTED TO ARRIVE!! Carrie and I did a video of me unpacking the latest shipment from Berroco, a hefty 35lb box of delight. Included was the Talara, which I mistook for Baby Yak, it's actually Baby Llama, Andra was quick on the trigger, thank-you for that!!! I was really excited that Berroco shared my video on their Instagram story, YAY!!! Best of all, they sent me a shop sample, the Morel vest which is stunning. Stephanie was first in the door to grab her supplies and Donna has already told me she'll be back to get hers. If you missed Andra's post, she completed hers and will be bringing it when she comes September 6th for Stitich and Bitch and the Midnight Magic Collection Trunk Show (mark your calendar).

Everyone knows just how much Carrie does for me, she's absolutely amazing!! You have her to thank for somehow finding room for all of the new inventory. She already had the shop completely rearranged while she was filming me, such the multi-tasker. We finished up recording and she said, "Do you want me to help you put it away?" I stupidly pulled the lazy card and said, "No." Afterall, it was 4:35 in the afternoon and I'd had such a taxing day, it's so hard being me. She looked at me with as much disgust as someone as nice as her can muster (a smile) and said, "Come on, it won't take long." She already had moved half of a display before I could agree to just do it. I did come to my own defense, indicating that I'd put some thought behind where the new West Yorkshire Spinners Signature Sock Yarn would go. Luckily it didn't interfere with her master plan, I bet she'd be an amazing chess player, she's got a talent for strategy. In about 20 minutes she had everything put away, a task that would likely take me an hour. I have restocked the Aerial silk mohair, the Talara is in the shop, and brand new sock yarn!! Stop on by!!

I am finished my Rutabaga Vest, it is so pretty! I will be blocking it today along with the Morel Vest, hoping they will both be dry by tomorrow night for Stitch and Bitch. With any luck at all, it won't rain, I've just about had my fill of soggy, wet weather. I wound up a skein to swatch my Big Love, I'm really excited to start our next KAL (September 23rd). A little reminder that our Summer Sweater KAL is wrapping up this Saturday August 26th 9-11:00. I've had many inquiries about Big Love and the pattern, it is a lot to digest. This is why I am going to start mine now, I'd like to be a resource and not clueless, big challenge. A friend of mine informed me there is some errata in the pattern on Ravelry, I suggest you take a look. The section in question references joining fronts and back, which is like reading Greek at this point I'm sure. That said, my goal is to stay enough ahead of you so I can guide you through if things get a bit tricky. Rest assured, if I can't figure it out, I've got Andra!!!

If you're wondering where I found this adorable little hummingbird picture, my friend Judy takes the most amazing pictures of birds. She was in the shop recently buying yarn for a two Brief Intermission bandana cowls and I told her how much I loved her pictures. I hope you enjoy this sweet little hummingbird as much as I did, compliments of Judy. We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday, from 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
