That Nagging Feeling....

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Happy Fourth of July!! So I'm paddling away in my kayak this morning when it occurs to me that I forgot to write my newsletter. The irony is I had a slight panic attack yesterday thinking it was Tuesday and instead of writing my newsletter, I was getting my hair cut. My responsibility to my peeps is ever present, but sometimes the mind is a sieve, oye vey...definitely helps explain my adventures in sweater knitting.

Last week I was mentioning my level of laziness and suffering the consequences of my actions. No glasses, not enough lighting combined with Zooming is the direct path to hell, my hell anyway. This past Friday I was determined to learn from my mistake, but trouble always manages to find me, it's my definition of a good time. I had my glasses, the lights were turned all the way up, I even had charged the Thermacell bug zapper, I'm ready for a few laughs. And laugh we did until I realized the my Moss Stitch had turned into 1x1 ribbing, WTF??? I'm paying attention, I swear I am. I start reading my knitting to see where I veered off track, we're going around and around, back, back, back and then,BAM, there it is!! WAY BACK THERE. I didn't notice that I'd lost the beginning of my round stitch marker, I still haven't found it. So my best laid plan still betrayed me, I know I have some good company with this. Try as you may, it just doesn't always go as planned, but my stubborness always prevails, we are back on track and have started sleeve number one. Andra has lit a fire under my ass, she cast on her sweater yesterday so I only have until tomorrow to finish mine before she does. My knitter's callous is huge, it usually doesn't look this bad until just after the holidays when I'm a hot mess trying to get things done. Oh well, I'm stocked up on band-aids...

I have a big box from Berroco full of Ultra Alpaca, Vintage AND PORTFOLIO 8. There is also some beautiful West Yorkshire Spinners Croft included for me to knit a shop sample. I have no idea which sweater I'm supposed to be making with that, I hope Andra remembers. If not, I'm considering making Andrea Mowry's The Weekender, I have a couple friends knitting it, I love the design. I also received a restock from Cocoknits, more Maker's Board (Julie it's here, I'll reach out in case you miss this), Stitch Markers, Darning Needles and the Ruler/Needle Gauge for the Maker's Boards. If you still don't have a Maker's Board, you really should consider getting one, they are an absolute game changer. I'm seriously considering getting a second one, I need all the help I can get keeping my shit together as you all know too well.

The Great Northern Yarn Haul STARTS THIS FRIDAY, JULY 7TH!!! I have passports and a limited supply of project bags. There is no purchase necessary to participate, it you want a project bag they are FREE with a minimum $20 purchase or you can buy a bag for $15, personally I'd rather spend the extra, get some yarn and then a FREE bag. Carrie mentioned organizing a day to car pool and go do a little yarn hauling, I'll let everyone know what gets decided. I'm guessing there will be a bit more conversation regarding this tomorrow evening at Stitch and Bitch. If you want to weigh in, please feel free to join us or reach out to me. Carrie and I have put together lots of kits for our Christmas In July themed Yarn Haul. The little ornaments are stupid cute, you know how I feel about stupid cute (the Sophie Scarf lol) but they make the greatest gifts and knit up in no time at all. The Leni Hat kits have already been popular, I am in love with Make It Tweed!

And if I haven't already made things exciting enough, wait until you see the new colors of Malabrigo Rios that will be coming out in September, OMG!!!! They have introduced 12 gorgeous new colors, the name of the collection is, ZODIAC. I have preordered all of them along with new colors of Rasta that haven't been available in ages, like TUNDRA!!! I have a gorgeous shop sample knit in Tundra, it hasn't been in stock for a few years, I ordered (2) bags, I LOVE THIS COLOR!!!! Lastly, I finally put the final details together for the Advent Calendar boxes, you are going to love what I've found for you, all new products!! So stinking cute, I am so excited to start working on them. They will be $150.00, 24 days of fun, or if you're Susan, 3 days....I have a list started, I will need payment in advance, so let me know ASAP if you'd like to reserve yours.

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
